Tools & Strategy: LeftApps

Wednesday, June 24th at 1 ET / 10PT — Approx 60 Minutes

Tools and Strategy Sessions are FREE Sessions focused on learning about new tools and the strategy to impact your engagement.

LeftApps is a suite of simple free tools (available at leftapps.us) for staffers of all backgrounds on campaigns of any level, focused entirely on making their work easier and letting them do things they couldn’t do before.

LeftApps is built by people who have experience on the ground at both political campaigns and software companies, and who understand that what holds campaigns of all levels back isn’t a lack of good ideas, but rather the time and resources it takes to get things done.

Tools you can use right now for free:

  • A fully automated ActBlue fundraising reporting dash for your org that takes 5 minutes to set up once and then updates every 10 minutes forever, with key breakdowns and comparisons that can be used off the shelf or customized for your needs. No more waiting, no more CSVs. Have a look at a sample dash at left4.us/sampledash

  • An easy-to-use link shortener with a custom domain for your org. We set up the domain for you; make and change links in seconds. Give your links a cleaner look, and simplify things for your supporters: since you can change where a link goes without having to rename it, “[yourdomain]/call” can always lead to your next call, for example.

  • An automatic grassroots fundraising program that allows your supporters to get custom donation links to share with friends, then gives them progress updates and encourages them as they go, all with no need for a staffer to mind the store.

  • A calendar invite tool that sends calendar invites to your supporters who have shown interest in an event, that automatically go on their calendar and generate reminders like any other invite (like you might see with Mobilize or similar, but can’t do in NGP).

And there’s more on the way to make ads and email analytics, vetting, organizing, operations, and more easier, with tools that are easy to pick up and don’t require overhauling your whole program. And everything we build is completely free to use the entire cycle, period.

    Eric Mayefsky

    Founder at LeftApps

Eric Mayefsky was most recently Pete for America’s Senior Digital Analytics Advisor, where he played a variety of roles, including driving digital fundraising testing, optimization, and building tools to solve problems around the campaign. Following the campaign, Eric started LeftApps to make tools available for free to candidates and progressive organizations that have small or non-existent tech teams. Even though the tools first launched just last month, candidates for Senate, House, Governor, State Legislature, PACs and progressive non-profits are all already using LeftApps.

Prior to his Pete for America work, Eric held a variety of Silicon Valley leadership roles, including leading Quora’s Data Science team and founding a social lending startup. Eric has a PhD in Behavioral Economics & Market Design and (ten years ago) was Facebook’s first ads optimization analyst.
